Spanish artist Rafael Lamas has published an illustration of Marja's song Piilokuvan mies (from the album Polku). The illustration called Hahmottua was an original work in his exhibition that was held in Barcelona in summer 2009. The video is now available in YouTube. Rafael was interviewed about the exhibition and the video by Barcelona's local TV station, and this interview (in Spanish) is also available in YouTube.
"Add some pinch of Dead Can Dance, Joni Mitchell and Mia Doi Todd and you get Marja Mattlar's sound." (Dennis Waterman / Fileunder.nl)
"Very nice, and very personal, but entirely comprehensible." (Gerald Van Waes / Psychedelicfolk.com)
"The individual songs of Polku join together like toothed gears and merge into one entity. One that is simultaneously primitive and cosmopolitan." "Marja Mattlar – the most Finnish of all Europeans" (Marco Pütz / Nordische-musik.de)
"Not only Mattlar's best CD until today, but according to my personal opinion, the best album released in 2007 worldwide. Together with musicians from Finland only, with members of the group Tenhi amongst them, Mattlar creates her own universe. With Polku she recorded a CD that is absolutely timeless, a perfect form of modern folk." (Eelco Schilder / Folkworld.de)
Marja Mattlar's albums are widely available at internet music download stores, including iTunes and eMusic.
